January 2010 Anhydro delivers high-efficient evaporator for Emsland-Alleraqua in GermanyThe Emsland-Alleraqua has developed processes to extract and utilize almost all starch, protein and fibres from potatoes and peas. The remaining fruit juice has traditionally been spread on the fields as fertilizers or dumped into the drain. In order to utilize the remaining solids and to protect the environment Emsland-Alleraqua has installed a high-efficient Anhydro MVR-evaporator with very low energy consumption. The capacity of the plant is 58 ton/h fruit juice to be concentrated from 2% dry solids to 45% dry solids. The calandria of the evaporator has a diameter of 4 meter and a length of 26 meter. The weight is 70 tons. The transportation of the calandria from Denmark to the site south of Berlin was a special challenge because of the size. The plant was delivered, installed and commissioned on-time and on-spec. within a very challenging time schedule. The whole project execution was carried through satisfactorily for Emsland-Alleraqua, and the plant fully lives up to the expectations, both as regards energy consumption, operation time, and the purity of the condensate from the evaporated fruit juice. |
